Hailing from Fairfield, California, Wil Cason has been laying the groundwork to become a success in the realm of professional and personal development since he attended San Jose State University in the early 1990’s, where he earned his Masters Degree in Counseling Education. While a student at San Jose, Wil facilitated national youth leadership conferences such as the National Colleges and Universities Residential Life Conference, South Dakota, 1991 and the National Peer Educational Conference in 1993. Wil also earned national recognition for founding San Jose State’s first Men’s Support Group, one of only three in the nation. Thanks to his numerous extra-curricular involvements, Wil was awarded the Top 55 Student Leadership Award at San Jose State University.

After earning his Masters, Wil Cason gained experience working in several diverse professional settings in the area of personal and organizational development and soon desired to launch his own company. While building his first company, Vision: A Positive Direction, opened in 1997, Wil kept busy in his community, and in the business world, as he loved to do. Wil honed his expertise by offering his planning, and development skills to many organizations, schools and businesses such as the California Urijani Family Resource Center, the Santa Clara Social Services Agency, Community Crime Prevention Associates of Oakland, CA, the Casey Family Programs and Foundations of Oakland, CA, San Jose State University, the high-tech corporation Applied Materials and others.

Through his company, Vision: A Positive Direction, Wil Cason began to make his mark as a visionary in his field. Vision: A Positive Direction main focuses are: professional development for adults, leadership seminars, and public speaking. A highlight was his stint as Program Manager from 1998-1999 for Unity Care Group, Inc. in San Jose, CA, where he single-handedly designed and developed engineering programs for middle school students and high school students. While at Unity Care he also created interpersonal skills workshops and forged partnerships with top Silicon Valley corporations and local schools and colleges, resulting in over $100,000 in funding to the engineering program. By the year 2000, Wil was thriving and took on the task of designing a college assimilation program for high-tech corporation Seagate Technology.

Why have one when you can have two ¦companies that is.  The year 2000 also saw the birth of Wil's second company, Positive Steps Consulting, an offshoot of Vision: A Positive Direction.  The focus of Positive Steps is on youth leadership and development programs, motivational speaking, and the design of professional growth and development and leadership programs. His clients and programs include ALZA Corporation, Solano County Public Health Department, Club Sport, Taste Victory Inc., Parks and Recreation (Suisun City), Los Medanos, the Oakland Public Library Mentor Program, Holy Names College Summer Bridge Program, Hayward State University, Aspira (Fairfield), Leadership Development Group Affiliate, the United States Marine Corps, the San Jose State G.E.A.R Program, the International and National Psychodrama Moreno Institute, San Jose, CA, Cobblestone Mortgage Group Wealth Building Seminars, the San Jose College Football Program, Diablo Valley College and many others.

What next for this master of leadership and development? Besides his affinity for changing peoples lives from the inside of corporations, schools and foundations, Wil Cason realized he was a powerful public speaker, and began developing his repertoire early on in his career. Wil soon caught the eye of the best in the business including the world-renowned speaker and personality, Les Brown, who was so impressed by Wil's talents that he made him a member of his prestigious Les Brown Speaker Network.

Wil’s recent speaking engagements include: Foster A Dream Fundraiser, National Middle School Conference, Master of Ceremony, Inspire to Go Hire, featured speaker with Les Brown, Also: Mega Fest Conference with Bishop T.D. In September 2004 one of Wil Cason greatest personal visions came true the release of his book, Visualizing Your Victory. This successful motivational book is the culmination of Wil’s profound understanding on a personal level of what it takes to imagine a dream or goal and make it happen. What Wil does in this life-altering work is to challenge people to live up to their own standards, to take a chance on themselves so that they can achieve not only personal success but also positively affect the lives of others.  The feedback from his readers has been phenomenal, and Wil is taking this opportunity to share his vision with the world.
